Zygmunt W. Kruszynski, age 87, of Hobart passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Zygmunt was born December 25, 1928 in Wilno, Poland to the late Stefan and Helena (Jurgelewicz) Kruszynski. He was a chemist who worked thirty-seven and a half years in the US Steel Chemical Lab before retirement. Ziggie was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church and the Salvatorian Fathers. Zygmunt began his life's journey in Wilno, Poland and was moved to Siberia because of the war. His family then moved to India and then England before coming to the USA. Now his journey is complete in Heaven.

Zygmunt is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years Teresa; his children, Barbara (Lewis) Kruszynski-Rea of Valparaiso and Robert (Amy) Kruszynski of Hobart; four grandchildren, Terilyn and Steven Rea, Kaitlyn Kruszynski and Ciara Furlong; his niece, Lisa (Jeff) Zagger Parker; a great nephew, Matthew Parker; and two great nieces, Kristin Burghdoff and Alaina Tuohy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Danuta and Frank Zagger.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Salvatorian Fathers' Monastery 5755 Pennsylvania Street, Merrillville, IN 46410. A celebration of Zygmunt's Life will follow at the Salvatorian Fathers' Hall.
