Candace Anne Solomon

Candace Anne Solomon, age 55, of Hobart passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Munster Community Hospital.  She was born in Gary, Indiana on October 30, 1965 to the late Ronald and Beverly (nee Knapp) Kranz.  Candace was a chef at Caring Heart, Open Arms Childcare in Hobart.  She loved to cook and enjoyed music and dancing.

Candace is survived by her son, Nicholas Solomon; daughter, Tiffany Cummins; grandchildren, Timberlynn Solomon, Daniel Stokes, Logan Cummins; brother, Ronald (Becky) Kranz; sisters, Tamara (David) Kranz-Calabrese, Debbie (Gary) McClellan; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal companion, Spanky.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Megan Solomon; son, Andrew Solomon; grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Kranz; and her parents, Ronald and Beverly Kranz.

Memorial contributions in Candace's name may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc., 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.

Visitation will take place Monday, March 22, 2021 from 11:00-12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342.  Cremation will follow.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 50 people will be permitted in the building at one time and face coverings are mandatory.

The funeral service is private.
