Edward L. Bellinger

Edward Lee Bellinger, age 74 of Hammond passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Franciscan Healthcare Crown Point. He was born on April 1, 1949, in Gary, Indiana to the late Merle and Goldie Bellinger. After graduating from Hobart High School, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Marblehead Lime Company where he worked as a Mill Operator. His greatest joy in life was his spending time with his son and grandson.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Bellinger; grandson, Alex Bellinger; brother, William (Betty) Bellinger; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Goldie Bellinger, and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Edward will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
