Lisa M. Mcgushion

Lisa Marie McGushion (nee Leonard), age 61 of Hobart, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born on April 9, 1963, in Gary, Indiana to the late Thomas and Judy Leonard. Lisa was a 1981 graduate of Hobart High School and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in education from Ball State and a master's degree in education from Indiana University. She worked as a schoolteacher for most of her life. On June 17, 1989, she married Shaun McGushion in Okeechobee, Florida. Lisa was a dedicated Girl Scout and cross country mom for her daughter. She was a talented artist and enjoyed designing greeting cards for Heartfelt Creations and Riley and Company after her retirement.

She is survived by her loving husband, Shaun McGushion; daughter, Cassondra (Jared) Carrier; grandchildren, Alana and Joseph Carrier; brother, Jeffery Leonard; sister, Jennifer (Philip) Stratton; nieces and nephews, Jenilee, Steven, Lauren and Caleb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Judy Leonard; and nephew, Alec Stratton. Memorial contributions in Lisa's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.

Visitation for Lisa will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
